All though it sometimes feels like a full-time job, chickens and gardening really take second chair to my job as a designer/illustrator and artist. You’ve seen some of my work from time to time with the stuff I give away on this blog (or other places like City Girl Farming’s Zazzle store).
Recently, I’ve been playing a bit with embroidery. My grandma taught me as a pre-schooler, but I haven’t done it for years and years. (Back then, the coffee she bought had these tiny little embroidery kits in them. I vaguely remember pansies or violets on them? Any of you know what I’m talking about?)
It took me the past several months to realize, HEY WAIT! I’m an artist! I have a bunch of City Girl Farming designs and illustrations. Why not take some of them and make them into embroidery patterns?
Yea, sometimes I’m not the brightest hen in the house.
Anyway, I did just that this weekend. Here is just a tiny sample. But if you like them, I’ll convert some more. I figured I haven’t given away anything for a while, so in honor of longer, warmer days, here’s some spring downloads for you. Free.

Also, I forgot (until after the fact) to give you these Easter-ish recipe cards last year, so I’m posting them here again, in case you’d like them.
So, here’s to spring, new baby chicks, the promise of another good harvest year, and _____ (what? You fill in the blank!)
Happy Easter, early. 🙂
